Hardware Installation
Caution
The Information Center Media Kit contain Operating System and Application
software. It is the MOST VALUABLE PART of the shipment. Be sure it is carefully
unpacked and placed in a safe, secure place for possible software reinstallation!
Unpacking
Components
When the shipment is received by the customer, it should be moved to the installation area
but remain unopened. The Philips Service Provider assigned to the installation will remove
the components from their packaging and assure the integrity of the shipment. The Philips
Service Provider will also remove shipment packaging materials from the customer site if
requested.
Checking
Inventory
An inventory
Packing List
is included with the shipment. Each shipped item should be
carefully checked against the Packing List to assure that it has been received. As items are
identified they should be set aside and missing items should be looked for thoroughly. If an
item on the Packing List is not found, call the
Response Center
and report the missing
item. It will be shipped immediately to the customer site.
Note
An
Archive floppy disk
is attached to the side of the server and workstations. Make certain
that it is in place and does not get lost.

System Serial
Number
Each processing unit has a
System Serial Number label
attached to its case as shown in
. The information on the label is shown in
. Verify that this
information correctly matches the system ordered.

Service
Documentation
The Information Center Service Kit includes the Service Quick reference Guides and a CD-
ROM that contains all the documentation for the Information Center system. Service
manuals for the other components are included in their individual shipment containers.
