Different skin conditions need different preparations:
Case (1): for the female with make-up
Smear the cleanser on the skin and wipe out the make-up at first, then wait for its evaporation. After that, rubbing the
skin 2 or 3 times with the sandpaper on the provided electrode, and clean up the rest substance with cotton or gauze.
Lastly, placing the electrodes.
Case (2): for those with oily skin
Smear the Ethanol on the skin and wipe out the oily substance at first, then wait for its evaporation. After that, rubbing
the skin 2 or 3 times with the sandpaper on the provided electrode, and clean up the rest substance with cotton or gauze.
Lastly, placing the electrodes.
Case (3): for pediatric patient
Smear the clear water on the skin at first, then clean the skin with cotton or gauze. Lastly placing the electrodes.
Step 3: place the electrodes
The placement of three electrodes is shown below. The advanced signal processing technique ensures that the distance
between electrodes can be as close as 2 cm (0.78 in) to get correct CSI value. However, it is recommended to place the
electrodes on the skull area with few muscle fibrils in order to obtain better signal quality.
Note:
Once the electrodes have been secured on the skin, attach the color-coded wires on the patient cable to appropriate
electrode.
Shown above is a left sided setup; right sided is also acceptable.
Place electrodes at the side farthest from the surgical area.
Step 4: connect lead wires to CSM Plug-in box
Make sure that the lead wires of CSM is well connected. Connecting one end to the electrode and another end to CSM
Plug-in box.
