Part Based Calibration
Required Tools
• Set of basic service tools
• 6”
digital calipers
• MaracaEX CD
Part based calibration consists of building a part and then taking six measurements - front,
right, left, rear, left rear and left front. These measurements are then entered using
MaracaEX.
When to Perform Part Based calibration
Part Based calibration needs to be performed after replacing the XY table assembly. Part
Based calibration is performed to eliminate any skewing in the X and Y axes.
Performing part based calibration for uPrint, uPrint SE, uPrint Plus and uPrint SE Plus from
the Service Calibration menu (Firmware version 9.1 or newer)
1.
While the printer is at
Idle
, enter standby mode by pressing the
Standby...
button.
2.
Enter the Service Calibration menu by pressing the following button sequence on the
display panel:
3,2,3,3,1
. See Figure 5-281.

Press the
Reset Part Based Calibration
button.
4.
The printer will ask “Do you want to zero settings and reboot?” Press
Yes
.
5.
Reboot the printer.
6.
Once the system displays Idle, press
Maintenance>System>Test Parts
then
select
the
test_XY_cal part.
7.
When part is completed, remove from printer and let cool for five minutes.
