Configuring switch port autonegotiation speed
You can configure a specific switch port or all switch ports to autonegotiate for the
highest available speed of the connected station or you can set the speed for
selected switch ports (autonegotiation is not supported on 1000 Mb/s fiber optic
ports).
To configure a switch port’s autonegotiation speed:

From the main menu, choose Configuration > Port Management .
The Port Management page opens (Figure 160) .

Description The factory set description of the hardware and software versions.
System Object ID The character string that the vendor created to uniquely identify this
device.
System Up Time The elapsed time since the last network management portion of the
system was last re-initialized.
Note: This field is updated only when the screen is redisplayed.
System Name 1..255 Type a character string to create a name to identify the switch, for
example Finance Group.
System Location 1..255 Type a character string to create a name for the switch location, for
example, First Floor.
System Contact 1..255 Type a character string to create the contact information for the network
manager or the selected person to contact regarding switch operation,
for example, mcarlson@company.com
Note: To operate correctly with the Web interface, the system contact
should be an e-mail address.
