IP Extenders/Mobile ConneX
Supported compression rates and bandwidth are used. This is defined on a per-port bases.
Branch (Remote) Unit
The IP Extender-Branch is the remote unit to which the extended extension is connected to. There is an
optional port to allow for a local PSTN to be connected to allow for emergency and local calls without
going through the main office.
Four types of Branch units are available: 8-port, dual port (two ports), single port with PSTN, and
Single port without PSTN Branch.
A local PSTN line can be assigned to ring and flash on a line key, flash only on a line key, or
neither.
Emergency calls (911) are set to automatically dial out the local PSTN line. (Dual and single port
Branches only). Emergency calls (911) can be set to go through the main system.
The branch unit can connect to a Gateway unit via an IP Connection.
The branch unit can connect to a Gateway unit via WAN connections (8-port branch to 8-port
Gateway only).
The branch unit uses a proprietary protocol.

APA, APR and HFU adapters are supported on the extended telephones.
Mobile ConneX
Mobile ConneX allows users to have their cell phone ring when their extension is called. When the call
is answered, it allows the user to have access to system features. The cell phone user can also call into
the system and is then able to dial internal and external numbers
(an 8-port Gateway and
Version 2000 or higher are required)
