*OPT?
Option identification query
With the
CASCade:ASSignement ALL
setting, the master sends the command to all slaves
and to itself and returns the options installed in all instruments in the cascade, separated by "|".
Example:
"B4(01.01),K21(01.00),K41(01.00),K42(01.00),K45(01.00),K601(01.00),K800(01.00)
|
B8(01.01),K21(01.00),K41(01.00),K42(01.00),K45(01.00),K601(01.00),K800(01.00) "
With the
CASCade:ASSignement MASTer
or
CASCade:ASSignement MASTer SLAVe0x
setting, the options installed in the addressed instrument are returned.
*OPC?
Synchronization
Stops further command processing until 1 is returned. This is not the case until the 'Operation
Complete' bit is set in the ESR. This bit indicates that the previous setting has been completed.
The slaves report the OPC event to the master on their own. The master returns the value "1"
to the control computer only when all OPCs have been received from all instruments.
Caution:
In case of nonsynchronization, "0" is
not
returned; instead, processing of commands is
blocked!
*OPC
Synchronization
Sets the Operation Complete bit in the ESR after processing all commands sent before *OPC.
The slaves report the OPC event to the master on their own. Only after all OPCs from all
instruments have arrived will the "Oper. Complete" bit in the ESR of the master be set.
*WAI
Synchronization
Allows processing of the subsequent commands only after all previous commands have been
carried out. The slaves report the OPC event to the master on their own. Processing of com-
mands does not continue until all OPCs have been received from all instruments.
Synchronization with
*WAI
will likely be used most frequently and is usually used as follows:
Example:
CASCade:ASSignment:ALL
INIT:CONT OFF
SENS:DATA1?
Read in response
SENS:DATA9?
Read in response
SENS:DATA17?
Read in response
*TRG
Trigger
The master sends the command to all slaves and to itself. No acknowledge signal is required.
After OPC, the measurement results can be retrieved.
*CLS
Clear status
The master sends the command to all slaves, then to itself. All variables needed to transact the
internal protocols between the cascaded instruments (e.g. *OPC, *WAI etc.) are reset.
*ESE
0...255
*EST?
*IST?
*SRE
*STB?
These common commands are evaluated by the master only. The master does not forward
these commands to its slaves as all slaves send their information to the master, which enters
this information in its registers as a summary using an AND or OR function.
