8.7.3.2 Query Commands for Measurement Results and Graphic Data Sets
CASCade:ASSignment ALL
The regular
SENS:DATA
command is channel-based and, therefore, is sent to the cor-
responding instrument, e.g.
SENS:DATA20?
If the cascade has been composed only
of 8-channel instruments, this command queries the measurement result of the 2nd
slave and its channel 4. Switched
‑
off channels are marked with "9.91e+37".
The measurement results for all instruments in the cascade are requested with
SENS:DATA:ALL?
: As a response, the measurement results of all channels of all
instruments in the cascade are returned in the sequence "Master|Slave01|Slave02|…".
The 2, 4, or 8 measurement results of an individual instrument are separated by ","
while the measurement result blocks of each instrument are separated by "|".
Example of a response: "1.234 V, 9.91e+37 ,1.234 V, 9.91e+37 ,1.234 V,1.234 V,1.234 V,
1.234 V | 2.234 V,2.234 V,2.234 V,2.234 V,2.234 V,2.234 V,2.234 V,2.234 V | 3.234 V,

Of course, it would be more straightforward to retrieve the data sets from the master
and slaves in specific blocks, e.g.:

With the "CASC:ASS ALL" setting, it is not possible to read in the trace data of individ-
ual graphic subsystems in concatenated blocks in the same way as for measurement
results. Specific data sets must be retrieved by the master and slaves, e.g.:
