The RMS measurement function is set in the master and in all slaves.
Commands addressing a specific channel
In the R&S UPP there are few commands that are channel
‑
related. If the cascade is to
behave like a single instrument, i.e. in the
CASCade:ASSignment ALL
operating
mode, these commands are (without intervention by the user) converted with respect
to the channel number and sent to the corresponding slave. If individual instruments
are addressed directly, the specified channel number <ch> must be
≤
2 for
R&S UPP200,
≤
4 for R&S UPP400 and
≤
8 for R&S UPP800.
From the channel number, the master calculates either itself or one of its slaves and
sends the command there with the corresponding modified channel number.
Example:
INPut:MCHannels 20 ON
If the cascade has been composed of only 8
‑
channel instruments, this command
switches on the 2nd slave and its channel 4 .
