Updating the mova’s Software (continued)

Select “YES” and press 

(select).

•

Follow Steps 3 - 5 in 

Updating software by reserving a date and time (see

p.619).

•

To not reserve, select “NO”. A prompt appears asking whether to end the
operation. To end the operation, select “YES” and press 

(select).

Display a screen for selecting an update method.

•

Follow Steps 1 - 5 in 

Updating software immediately (see p.616).

•

When a call comes while you execute Steps 2 - 7, you can answer the call unless “rewriting”, “checking
whether rewriting is complete”, or “rewriting is complete, restart” appears (depending on the Call Reception
setting during i-mode ). When you end the call, the screen is returned to the previous screen.

•

When the i-mode center receives mail or Messages while you execute Steps 2 - 7, 

appears on the

Standby screen after Software Update is completed in case you set i-mode Host to “

ﾄﾞｺﾓ

”. However, the

mova does not receive mail body so that execute Check New Message or Mail Optional Reception to
receive mail or a Message (see p.338, 337).
When “your update is complete” appears, you can receive mail or a Message. However, you cannot
display it. Return to the Standby screen and display it (see p.346, 312).

•

When Keypad Lock is set through remote operation during Software Update, Software Update is canceled.

•

During Software Update, be sure not to remove the battery. Removing the battery may result in an update
failure. When update failed, “failed in rewriting” appears and all you can do is turning the power on and off
only. In such a case, contact an authorized NTT DoCoMo service center.

•

If you cancel download in the middle, the data downloaded until then is deleted.
