1. A space is entered (unless there are characters to be fixed). If pressed at the position where no
character is entered, the cursor moves to the right.
When pressed and held down, a new line starts (this is only available when composing the i-mode
mail/i-shot mail/Chat mail** body and editing a signature).
2. A new line starts (this is only available when composing the i-mode mail/i-shot mail/Chat mail** body
and editing a signature; however, in the kanji mode, this feature is unavailable unless there are
characters to be fixed).
3. Adding handakuten marks (

) in the kanji mode, see p.562.
4. It is possible to change the order of assignment from uppercase to lowercase letters (see p.561).
5. Pressing the key after entering a character converts the character from double-byte to single-byte
and vice versa.
6. When pressed and held down, a new line starts (this is only available when composing the i-mode
mail/i-shot mail/Chat mail** body and editing a signature).
7. Pressing the key after entering any of the characters indicated with converts the character from
uppercase to lowercase and vice versa. (other than Katakana “ ワ ”). Punctuation marks ( 、 and 。 ),

8. A pause (P) is entered (this is only available when entering a pause in the “phone X:” field for the
Phonebook and in the “allowed call” field for Remote Lock).

In the kana mode, characters are entered as katakana (single-byte) characters. is assigned as
shown below:

** In the Chat mail body, linefeed occurs during composition, but replaced by single-byte space in the
Chat mail screen when the mail is sent.
