Press (return) or to exit special mode and return to the character entry screen.

The history for double-byte symbols, the history for single-byte symbols in the screens that only allow input
alphanumeric characters, and the history for single-byte symbols in the screens that allow input other than
alphanumeric text are displayed separately.
•
Linefeed symbol is not displayed in the history.
•
When using repeated entry, you will lose the contents of the repeated selection box if you press (return)
before pressing (COMP).

Use to select a symbol and press (select).
The symbol appears in the character entry screen. The selected symbol is added to the history.

Alternatively, you can select from the history.

The single-byte and double-byte symbols appear in this order. When only single-byte symbols
can be entered, no double-byte symbols are displayed.

If you make a wrong selection, press to delete the symbol and then repeat the procedure
from Step 1.
4 Press (fix).
The characters are fixed.

Press to return to the state prior to pressing (CNT).

The selected symbol is added to the repeated selection box and to the
history.

Up to 8 symbols can be selected.

Press to delete the last symbol you selected. Press and hold
down to delete all the currently selected symbols. Deleting
symbols with will not delete them from the history.

The history is not cleared even when turning the power off.

Entering pictographs, emoticons, and pictograph words
Pictographs, emoticons, and pictograph words can be entered by selecting the
character from a list. You can also enter series of pictographs easily.

Press in the character entry screen.
List of pictographs appear. In history, up to 8 previously entered pictographs
appears.
“pictograph 1”, “pictograph 2”, “emoticon”, and “
絵文字ことば
” appear in this
order when you press .
•
Pressing (special) in the character entry screen and selecting
“03.pictograph” also displays the list of pictographs.
•
Pictograph words can also be entered by pressing (special) in the
character entry screen and selecting “01.common phrases” “6. 絵文字こと
ば ”. You can modify and delete existing ones and add new ones (see p.572).
•
Pictograph words can also be entered by entering “ えもじ ” or “ えもじに ” in
the character entry screen and converting it.
•
Emoticons can also be entered by entering “ かおもじ ” and converting it.
