Setting the maximum mail size to be received
If you have set the Maximum Mail Size and the message in a mail item exceeds 500
single-byte or 250 double-byte characters, the mail is divided at the 500 single-byte
character point and is received as multiple mail. The Maximum Mail Size to be
received is set to 500 single-byte characters (per mail item) by default. You can set a
maximum of up to 4,000 single-byte characters (up to 8 items).
•
Even if you set more than 500 single-byte characters for received mail the number of characters
for sent mail is a maximum of 500 single-byte characters.
•
If the number of characters in the mail body exceeds the maximum number of characters you set,
“/ ” or “// ” is inserted at the end of the mail body and excess characters are deleted.
•
When the i-mode center storage is full and cannot receive all of a Divided mail message, the
i-mode center does not receive any of the divided mail and instead sends it back to the sender
with an error message indicating the server is full.
