i-mode Lock

Disabling i-mode Communication

Canceling i-mode Lock

When you set i-mode Lock, displaying sites, sending and receiving mail, receiving
Messages, and performing any other i-mode functions cannot be used. This function
prevents others using your mova without your consent.

•

You cannot set i-mode Lock during a call, during i-mode communication, or in i-mode standby.
For details about quitting i-mode standby, see p.274.

In standby, press

(menu), and press and hold down

.

i-mode Lock is set.

The i-mode Lock icon appears.

When you close the mova,

appears in the

Inspiration window.

•

The following i-mode operations are not available:

•

Display i-mode sites, Screen memos, Internet web sites, or Bookmarks

•

Receive new Messages or display received Messages (including Auto Display)

•

Receive new mail or display received mail

•

Compose and send i-mode mail or i-shot mail

•

Compose and display chat mail

•

Display, edit and re-send sent/unsent mail

•

Use the Check New Message function

•

Start-up i-

α

ppli (including Auto start)

•

Make settings, display setting status, or reset settings for i-mode, mail, and i-

α

ppli (however, you can

still set Mail Security or change the i-shot host)

•

Send/receive mail or Bookmarks using infrared communication

•

Display sent/unsent mail, received mail, or Bookmarks saved in

Memory Stick Duo.

•

The i-

α

ppli Standby screen closes and the Standby screen set in the Standby Screen setting is displayed

while the i-mode Lock is engaged. The i-

α

ppli Standby screen restarts when the i-mode Lock is canceled.

•

You can compose and send Short Mail while i-mode Lock is set. (Editing and sending Short Mail and i-

shot mail from the Outmail box cannot be performed.)

When i-mode Lock is set

•

You cannot cancel i-mode Lock while Keypad Lock is set.

•

The power is automatically turned off when the terminal ID number is entered incorrectly 5 times in a
row. If this happens, turn the mova back on and enter the correct terminal ID number.
