Using

•
The characters in a signature are counted as part of the mail body.
•
When the mail body contains more than the maximum number of characters allowed, “/” or “//” is inserted
at the end and the remaining characters are deleted automatically.
•
When the subject of the mail contains more than the maximum number of characters allowed, the
remaining characters are deleted.
•
Single-byte katakana and pictographs should not be used in mail exchanged between other than i-mode
compatible mobile phones, as such characters may not be displayed correctly.
•
You cannot send/receive file attachments. Attachments are automatically deleted at the i-mode center and
only the mail body is delivered. In this case, “
添付ファイル削除
” is added at the beginning of the mail body.
(Up to the specified number of characters can be received including the “ 添付ファイル削除 ” message.)
Number of characters that can be sent/received
There are restrictions on the number of characters i-mode mail can contain:
• Reject/Receive Selected Mail
You can set reception or rejection of mail from the specified addresses for all received mail (see p.336).
•
Reject/Receive Only i-mode Mail
You can receive mail only via i-mode (reject mail via the Internet) or reject mail via i-mode (see p.367).
• Reject Mass i-mode Mail Senders
You can reject the 200th and subsequent i-mode mail items from the same address per day that
you receive. This function is set to “reject” by default, therefore, you do not need to set it if you want
to reject such mail (see p.368).
• Reject Unsolicited Ad Mail
You can reject unsolicited mail sent for the purposes of advertisement without your consent. Your
mova is set to “reject” by default, therefore, you do not need to set it if you want to reject such mail.
Senders are obligated by law to indicate “
未承諾広告※ ” (6 double-byte characters) at the beginning
of the subject line (see p.369).
• Reject All Short Mail
You can set the phone to not receive Short Mail (see p.370).
Note: You can set only one of Receive Mail from Selected Domain, Receive Selected Mail, Reject
Selected Mail, Receive Only i-mode Mail , and Reject Only i-mode Mail at one time.

■ Setting the maximum size of received mail
Up to 4,000 single-byte characters can be received. (Up to 500 single-byte characters can be sent)
(see p.371).

Suspending mail service
If you are not using the i-mode mail service, you can suspend the i-mode center mail functions (see p.372).

When mail cannot be received
Mail received at the i-mode center is immediately sent to your i-mode compatible mobile phone;
however, mail is stored at the i-mode center when Receive Option is on or when you cannot receive
mail because your i-mode compatible mobile phone is in a call, starting i-
α ppli, turned off or outside the
i-mode service area.
