What Is i-mode? (continued)

i-mode?

•

Contents of i-mode sites or Internet web sites are protected by copyright laws. Text and image data
downloaded from these sites to the mova is the sole property of the creator and is intended for personal
use only. Any use other than personal, whole or in part, without the express consent of the author is
prohibited.

•

Depending on the format of the files downloaded from i-mode sites, etc., colors may not be displayed at
the full color capacity of your phone.

•

The data stored in the mova (mail, Messages, Screen memos, i-

α

ppli applications, and Bookmarks) are

stored for about 1 month even if the battery is removed, or a drained battery is attached. However, after
about 1 month the data may be lost. Data may also be lost due to failure of the mova, or repair or other
handling procedure. Therefore, it is recommended that you keep a separate record of your important data.
Should any stored or registered data be lost, the NTT DoCoMo Group can in no way be held responsible
for any loss of data.
Using the 

Memory stick Duo allows you to store mail,Bookmarks and other data (see p.485).

Data such as mail and Bookmarks can be forwarded to and stored in a computer (Windows 98 Second
Edition, Windows Me, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home
Edition), using the designated data link software. You can download the data link software from Mitsubishi
Electric Corporation’s web site at http://www.MitsubishiElectric.co.jp/d506i/ (see p.594).

When the mova is repaired, etc., due to copyright law restrictions, information downloaded using i-mode
or i-

α

ppli is not transferred to another mobile phone.

Upon using i-mode

Useful functions

■

To operate i-mode through a car navigation system (see p.555)

•

By connecting to an i-mode compatible car navigation system, you can view sites on the car
navigation display, and send and receive i-mode mail.

•

By using the functions of the car navigation system, you can search for a restaurant from the i-mode
site (with location information) and set it up as the destination of the car navigation system, notify
your present location through mail to others, and so on.

■

To connect to a “PlayStation” (see p.555)

When the mova is connected to a “PlayStation”, you can download or exchange data required for a
game using “PlayStation” software compatible with i-mode.

Before using i-mode

If you subscribe to i-mode after you purchase your mova, perform the following operations before using
i-mode.

•

If you subscribe to i-mode when you purchase your mova then the following operations are
unnecessary.

Select “setting” 

“network service” 

“i-mode connect” from the menu.

Select “1. on” and press 

(select).

•

Even if you have not subscribed to i-mode,  blinks in the Standby screen when the “i-mode
connect” function is on. By connecting to i-mode, it turns off automatically.
