4.170 Minimum d.h.w. storage tank temperature
level when charging with the collector
(TBmin)
Charging of the d.h.w. storage tank via solar collectors (B6 / B61) is accomplished via
the temperature differentials ON and OFF against the actual value of the d.h.w. storage
tank (TBx) at the relevant heat exchanger.
In the case of
stratification storage tanks,
the “Minimum d.h.w. storage tank tem-
perature level when charging with collector” (TBmin) can be used as an additional
switch-on criterion.
In that case, the ON / OFF temperature differential against the higher of the 2 values
(TBx or TBmin) is to be maintained.

This ensures that the upper part of the stratification storage tank (possible with Sol 4, 9,
10, 11 and 15) will be raised to a higher temperature level already at the beginning of
charging instead of heating the storage tank evenly but at a much lower temperature
level.
