4.92 Type of antifreeze agent added
•
More accurate calculation of solar yield based on the characteristics of the type of
antifreeze agent used
The type of antifreeze agent used can be entered.

1
The different brands of antifreeze agents have different specific heat capacities. The
controller takes this into consideration when calculating the solar yield and discharging.
The accuracy of the calculations will thus be improved. Make the setting in accordance
with the type of antifreeze agent used:
1
No
antifreeze agent added (only water in the solar circuit).
2
The solar circuit contains
Ethylenglycol
as an antifreeze agent.
This includes the following brands: Antifrogen N (Clariant), DOWCAL 10 and
DOWTHERM 400 (DOW), Glythermin NF (BASF) and Tyfocor (Tyforop).
3
The solar circuit contains
Propylenglycol
as an antifreeze agent.
This includes the following brands: Antifrogen L and Antifrogen SOL* (Clariant),
DOWCAL 20 and DOWFROST HD (DOW), Glythermin P44 (BASF), Tyfocor L
(Tyforop) and UCOTHERM PGA (FRAGOL).
4
The solar circuits contains a
mixture of Ethylenglycol and Propylenglycol
as
an antifreeze agent.
This includes Glythermin GP42 (BASF), for example.
* The antifreeze agent Antifrogen SOL (Clariant) is a premixed heat conducting medium
containing 50 % Propylenglycol. This means that concentration of the antifreeze agent
(operating line 339) must be set to 50 %.
4.93 Concentration of antifreeze agent
•
Calculation of solar yield measurement is more accurate when based on the specific
heat capacity of the heat conducting medium in the solar circuit
The specific heat capacity of the mixture in the solar circuit changes depending on the
concentration of the antifreeze agent. The controller takes into consideration the set
concentration of the antifreeze agent when making yield calculations.

0
Setting 0 means that no antifreeze agent has been added.
Setting 100 means that the solar circuit only contains nothing but antifreeze agent.
