D.h.w. relay Q3 can be used for the control of a charging pump or diverting valve.

The setting defines whether the d.h.w. shall be heated with a charging pump or a di-
verting valve:
0 With
charging
pump
The d.h.w. storage tank obtains its energy via the charging pump from the flow.
The mass flow of the boiler pump must be at least as big as that of the d.h.w.
charging pump, thus ensuring that the heating water is delivered by the boiler and
not partly by the buffer storage tank.

diverting
valve
A diverting valve after the boiler changes directly over to d.h.w. heating. This
means that both the buffer storage tank and the consumers will be hydraulically
decoupled so that they cannot draw any heat. If there is no heat demand for space
heating (e.g. during the summer), the valve will continuously maintain the “D.h.w.
heating” position. Accidental charging of the buffer storage tank or accidental sup-
ply of heat to the heating circuits will thus be prevented.
