6.8 Pump kick / valve kick
•
No seizing of pumps and valves
The pump and valve kick is a protective function aimed at preventing the pumps and
valves from seizing.
Every Friday at 10:00, the pumps connected directly to the RVA65.642 / RVA65.643
are activated for 30 seconds, one by one at an interval of one minute.
The valve kick is activated only when there is no demand for heat.
During the periods of time pump kick is activated, the water circulates. The mechanical
parts of the pumps and the valve seats will be purged, thus preventing the pumps and
valves from seizing.
The valve kick is made only if, since the last valve kick, the valve has not been moved
by a control function.
The valve kick is made only if, since the last valve kick, the valve has not been put into
operation by a control function.
The pump kick / valve kick is made in the same order the relay terminals are energized
(Q101 – Q110).
6.9 Frost
protection
•
Prevents the different plant components from freezing
In addition to the frost protection modes described here, frost protection for the room
(TRF) and frost protection for the plant - whose parameters can be individually set - are
also active. For details, refer to the descriptions on operating lines 28 and 180
EXP
.
6.9.1 For the BMU (modulating)
The frost protection function for modulating gas-fired boilers is integrated in the BMUs.
For details, refer to the documentation of the relevant product.
6.9.2 For a single- or 2-stage oil- or gas-fired boiler
If… then…
The actual boiler temperature falls below 5 °C …
(TKx < 5 °C)
… the frost protection func-
tion for the boiler becomes
active
The actual value of the boiler temperature exceeds the
minimum limitation of the boiler temperature (operating
line 270) …
(TKx > TKmin)
… the frost protection func-
tion will be
terminated
If the frost protection function for the boiler is activated, the burner will be switched on
and the boiler water heated up until the frost protection function is terminated.
The frost protection setpoint for the boiler is factory-set at 5 °C and cannot be changed.
Protective boiler startup remains activated within its functionality.
The minimum burner running time (operating line 253
EXP
) is taken into consideration.
