TURBOCHARGING
Turbocharger oil pipe: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a
Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting ) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a
Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting ) (80A, Battery).
a
Remove:
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray.
a
Drain the gearbox (see Manual gearbox oils:
Draining - Filling ) (21A, Manual gearbox).
a
Remove:
- the front right-hand driveshaft (see Front right-
hand driveshaft: Removal - Refitting ) (29A,
Driveshafts),
- the differential output seal (see Differential output
seal: Removal - Refitting ) (21A, Manual gear-
box),
- the engine tie-bar (see 19D , Engine mounting ,
Lower engine tie-bar: Removal - Refitting , page
19D-85 ) .

Remove the catalytic converter (see 19B , Exhaust ,
Catalytic converter: Removal - Refitting , page
19B-32 ) .
a
Remove the catalytic pre-converter (see 19B , Ex-
haust , Catalytic pre-converter: Removal - Refit-
ting , page 19B-22 ) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a
Remove:
- the turbocharger oil pipe bolt ( 1 ) on the cylinder
block,
- the turbocharger oil pipe bolts ( 2 ) on the turbo-
charger,
- the turbocharger oil supply pipe hollow bolt ( 3 ) on
the cylinder block,
- the turbocharger oil pipes.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
Parts always to be replaced:
- the turbocharger oil pipes.
a
Lubricate the new turbocharger oil pipe O-ring, cylin-
der block end.
a
Remove the protective plug on the oil supply union,
cylinder block end.
Tightening torques
m
turbocharger oil pipe
bolts 10 N.m
turbocharger oil supply
pipe hollow bolt on the
cylinder block 16 N.m
M9R, and 742 or 744 or 746 or 748 or 754
M9R, and 800 or 802 or 805 or 806 or 808 or 809
or 816 or 845 or 849
