Automatic gearbox oil: Draining - Filling

Remove the air filter unit (see Air filter unit: Re-
moval - Refitting ) (12A, Fuel mixture).
a
Disconnect the speed sensor connector ( 7 ) .
a
Remove:
- the speed sensor bolt,
- the speed sensor,
- the speed sensor seal.
a
Add 0.5 L of oil to the automatic gearbox.
a
Refit:
- a new speed sensor seal,
- the speed sensor.
a
Connect the speed sensor connector.
a
Refit the air filter unit (see Air filter unit: Removal -
Refitting ) (12A, Fuel mixture).
a
Fasten the wiring at the gearbox.
a
Refit the air outlet pipe onto the air filter unit.
a
Torque tighten the air filter unit air outlet pipe
clips 6 N.m .
a
Connect the brake servo vacuum pipe.
a
Fit the oil vapour rebreathing pipe.
a
Run the engine at idle speed.
a
Connect the Diagnostic tool .
a
Monitor the automatic transmission oil temperature
parameter.
a
Wait for the temperature to reach 40˚C

Place a container under the level-setting plug.
a
Remove the level plug, leaving the engine running.
a
Measure the quantity of oil collected.
a
If there was no oil flow or if the quantity collected is
less than
0.1 L :
- Switch off the engine,
- refit the level plug,
- add 0.5 L of oil,
- let the automatic transmission cool to 30˚C ,
- run the engine at idle speed,
- wait for the automatic gearbox oil temperature to
reach 40˚C

- place a container under the level-setting plug,
- remove the level plug.

Repeat these operations until there is more than 0.1
L of oil in the container.

Note:
The gearbox is filled via the speed sensor
located close to the gearbox wiring connector.
