Exhaust fuel injector: Removal - Refitting

REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
parts always to be replaced: Exhaust fuel injec-
tor seal (10,08,02,14)
.

II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a
Refit:
- two new seals for the exhaust fuel injector,
- the exhaust fuel injector,
- the exhaust fuel injector clamp.
a
Torque tighten the exhaust fuel injector bracket
bolt (21 N.m) .
a
Connect the exhaust fuel injector connector.
a
Fit the fuel supply union of the exhaust fuel injector.
a
Remove the blanking plugs.
a
Connect the fuel supply union to the exhaust fuel in-
jector.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a
Apply the after repair procedure to check system
sealing using the
Diagnostic tool :
- connect the Diagnostic tool ,
- select « Injection computer » ,
- go to repair mode,
- display the « before/after repair procedure » for the
computer selected,
- select « Exhaust fuel injection system » in the
« List of components controlled by this computer »
section,
- carry out the operations described in the « After re-
pair procedure » section.

Refit:
- the lower engine tie-bars (see 1 9 D , Engine
mounting , Lower engine tie-bar: Removal - Re-
fitting , page 19D-85 ) ,
- the engine undertray.
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
Note:
Before tightening the injector bracket bolt, ensure
that the exhaust fuel injector is positioned prop-
erly in relation to its bracket: flat surfaces to
guide the bracket on the injector ensure this cor-
rect position.
If the injector is incorrectly positioned, the entire
particle filter will not work properly as the diesel
fuel jet will not be correctly oriented.
