POWER ASSISTED STEERING
Power-assisted steering pump: Removal - Refitting

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a
Fit the hose clamp (Ms. 583) on the low pressure
pipe ( 1 ) .
a
Remove:
- the clip ( 2 ) using the (Mot. 1448) ,
- the low pressure pipe ( 1 ) from the power-assisted
steering pump.
a
Fit a blanking plug on the opening of the power-as-
sisted steering pump.
a
Remove:
- the high pressure pipe bolt ( 3 ) ,
- the power-assisted steering pump high pressure
pipe union ( 4 ) ,
a
Fit blanking plugs on the high-pressure pipe union
and on the opening of the power-assisted steering
pump.
a
Remove:
- the bolts ( 5 ) from the power-assisted steering
pump,
- the power-assisted steering pump.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
Always replace the high pressure pipe's O-ring.
a
Before refitting the belt, clean the crankshaft pulley
V-grooves with a brush to remove any deposits.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a
a
Refit:
- the power steering pump,
- the high-pressure pipe equipped with a new seal
on the power-assisted steering pump,
- the high pressure pipe clamp on the power-assist-
ed steering pump.
a
Tighten to torque:
- the high pressure pipe union on the power-as-
sisted steering pump (21 Nm) .
- the high pressure pipe bracket bolt on the pow-
er-assisted steering pump (8 N.m) .

WARNING
Do not run the engine without the accessories
belt to avoid damaging the crankshaft accesso-
ries pulley.
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
