REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION

Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting ) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a
Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting )
(80A, Battery)
- the battery tray (see Battery tray: Removal - Re-
fitting ) (80A, Battery),
- the air filter box (see Air filter unit: Removal - Re-
fitting ) (12A, Fuel mixture).

Unclip the manual gearbox control cables:
- from the anchoring ball joints at ( 1 ) ,
- from the cable sleeve stops at ( 2 ) .

Move the gearbox control cables to one side.
Special tooling required
Mot. 1453 Engine anchorage support
with multiple adjustments and
retaining straps.
Mot. 1453-01 Additional handle nut for
engine lifting support tool
Mot. 1453.
Bvi. 1718 Component suppor t plate for
removal - refitting of gear-
boxes.
