TOP AND FRONT OF ENGINE
Timing chain: Removal - Refitting

Fit the upper timing cover for the back row.
a
Fit the back row upper timing cover bolts without
tightening them.
a
Tighten the back row upper timing cover bolts in se-
quence.
a
Fit the lifting eye on the timing end.
a
Refit the timing end lifting eye mounting bolts.
a
Fit the coolant pipe at the outlet of the exhaust gas
recirculation solenoid valve to the upper timing cover
of the back row.
a
Refit the bolts for the cooling pipe at the outlet of the
exhaust gas recirculation solenoid valve to the upper
timing cover of the back row.
a
Refit the air inlet pipe of the damper valve.
a
Tighten the clips of the damper valve air inlet pipe.
a
Fit the engine wiring support to the upper timing cov-
er of the back row.
a
Refit the bolt for the engine wiring support on the up-
per timing cover of the back row.
a
Connect the exhaust gas recirculation solenoid
valve connector.
a
Clip the fuel lines onto the engine wiring support.
a
Refit a new lower timing cover seal.
a
Apply drops of SILICONE ADHESIVE SEALANT
(see Vehicle: Parts and consumables for the re-
pair ) (04B, Consumables - Products) at ( 64 ) on the
new the lower timing cover seal.
a
Fit the lower timing cover.
a
Fit the lower timing cover bolts without tightening
them.
a
Tighten the lower timing cover bolts in the correct or-
der.
a
Refit:
- the starter (see 16A , Starting - Charging , Starter:
Removal - Refitting , page 16A-31 ) ,
- the oil pressure sensor (see 10A , Engine and cyl-
inder block assembly , Oil pressure sensor: Re-
moval - Refitting , page 10A-227 ) ,
- the oil filter (see 10A , Engine and cylinder block
assembly , Oil filter: Removal - Refitting , page
10A-117 ) ,
- the alternator (see 16A , Starting - Charging , Al-
ternator: Removal - Refitting , page 16A-1 ) ,
- the crankshaft seal on the timing side (see 10A ,
Engine and cylinder block assembly , Crank-
shaft seal on timing end: Removal - Refitting ,
page 10A-134 ) ,
- the crankshaft accessories pulley (see 11A , Top
and front of engine , Crankshaft accessories
pulley: Removal - Refitting , page 11A-33 ) ,
