Automatic gearbox: Removal - Refitting

REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
Check:
- the distance X with a ruler. This distance must be a
minimum of 20.5 mm ,
- the condition of the drive plate and crown wheel vi-
sually.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a
Refit the gearbox on the engine.
a
Tighten to torque:
- the gearbox bell housing bolts and nuts (44
N.m) ,
- the converter nuts (44 N.m) .
a
Refit the engine - gearbox assembly on the (Mot.
1390) .
III - FINAL OPERATION
a
Refit the rigid cooling pipe.
a
Fit the power-assisted steering rigid pipe.
a
Refit the power-assisted steering rigid pipe bolt.
a
Fit the rigid cooling pipes at the inlet and outlet of the
gearbox oil - coolant heat exchanger.
a
Refit:
- the power-assisted steering rigid pipe bolt,
- the bolt of the rigid cooling pipes at the inlet and
outlet of the gearbox oil - coolant heat exchanger,
- the bolt of the rigid cooling pipes at the inlet and
outlet of the gearbox oil - coolant heat exchanger.
a
Connect the cooling hoses at the inlet and outlet of
the gearbox oil - coolant heat exchanger.
a
Fit the cooling hose clips (Mot. 1448) at the inlet and
outlet of the gearbox oil - coolant heat exchanger us-
ing the tool.
a
Refit the catalytic pre-converter (see Catalytic pre-
converter: Removal - Refitting ) (19B, Exhaust).
a
Fit the turbocharger air outlet pipe mounting.
a
Refit the turbocharger air outlet pipe support bolts.
a
Refit:
- the starter (see Starter: Removal - Refitting )
(16A, Starting - Charging),
- the oil pressure sensor (see Oil pressure sensor:
Removal - Refitting ) (10A, Engine and peripher-
als),
- the oil filter (see Oil filter: Removal - Refitting )
(10A, Engine and peripherals),
- the « engine - gearbox » assembly (see Engine -
gearbox assembly: Removal - Refitting ) (10A,
Engine and peripherals),
- the right-hand suspended engine mounting (see
Right-hand suspended engine mounting: Re-
moval - Refitting
) (19D, Engine mounting),
- the left-hand suspended engine mounting (see
Left-hand suspended engine mounting: Re-
moval - Refitting
) (19D, Engine mounting),
- the lower engine tie-bars (see Lower engine tie-
bar: Removal - Refitting ) (19D, Engine mount-
ing),
- the air resonator (see Air resonator: Removal -

- the electric coolant pump from the turbocharger

Note:
Before coupling the gearbox to the engine, posi-
tion the converter bolts opposite the holes on the
drive plate.
