COOLING
Coolant pump inlet pipe: Removal - Refitting

- the coolant pump inlet pipe,
- the coolant pump inlet pipe seal.
a
Remove:
- the water pump inlet pipe offset bolt ( 2 ) on the cyl-
inder block,
- the coolant pump inlet pipe offset,
- the coolant pump inlet pipe offset seal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATIONS OPERATION
a
Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair ) (MR 415, 04B,
Consumables - Products) to clean and degrease:
- the coolant pump inlet pipe seal mating face if it is
being reused,
- the coolant pump inlet pipe seal mating face if it is
being reused,
- the cylinder block gasket face.
a
Always replace:
- the coolant pump inlet pipe seal,
- the coolant pump inlet pipe offset seal.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a
Refit:
- the coolant pump inlet pipe offset fitted with a new
seal,
- the water pump inlet pipe offset bolt on the cylinder
block.
a
Torque tighten the coolant pump inlet pipe offset
bolts on the cylinder block (10 Nm) .
a
Refit:
- the coolant pump inlet pipe fitted with a new seal.
- the coolant pump inlet pipe bracket bolt on the cyl-
inder block.
a
Torque tighten the coolant pump inlet pipe brack-
et bolt on the cylinder block (38 N.m) .
a
Connect the hose from the coolant pump inlet pipe.
a
Fit the hose clip on the water pump inlet pipe using
the
(Mot. 1448) .
III - FINAL OPERATION.
a
Remove:
- the multifunction support (see 10A , Engine and
cylinder block assembly , Multifunction sup-
port: Removal - Refitting , page 10A-265 ) ,
- the air conditioning compressor (see Compressor:
Removal - Refitting ) (MR 415, 62A, Air condition-
ing),
- the alternator (see 16A , Starting - Charging , Al-
ternator: Removal - Refitting , page 16A-1 ) ,
- the power-assisted steering pump (see Power-as-
sisted steering pump: Removal - Refitting ) (MR
415, 36B, Power-assisted steering),
- the accessories belt (see 11A , Top and front of
engine , Accessories belt: Removal - Refitting ,
page 11A-13 ) ,
- the front right-hand wheel arch liner (see Front
wheel arch liner: Removal - Refitting ) (MR 416,
55A, Exterior protection),
- the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
Refitting ) (MR 415, 35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the engine undertray,
- the engine undertray bolts.
a
Tighten the engine undertray bolts.
a
Check that there are no coolant leaks.
a
Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting ) (MR 415, 80A, Battery).
