COOLING
Engine cooling fan assembly: Removal - Refitting

REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
If replacing the fan assembly
a
Remove:
- the 3 bolts from the used fan assembly propellor,
- the fan assembly propellor,
- the 3 bolts from the fan assembly,
- the engine cooling fan.
a
Mark the position of the new fan assembly propellor
on its shaft using a
indelible pencil .
a
Remove:
- the 3 bolts from the new fan assembly propellor,
- the fan assembly propellor.
a
Fit the new fan assembly.
a
Tighten the 3 bolts on the new fan assembly.
a
Fit the new fan assembly propellor by aligning the
marks.
a
Tighten the 3 bolts on the new fan assembly propel-
lor.
a
Fit a cardboard protector to the cooling radiator.
a
Refit the fan assembly on the cooling assembly.
a
Remove the cardboard protector.
II - FINAL OPERATION.
a
Refit the intercooler (see 12B , Turbocharging , In-
tercooler: Removal - Refitting , page 12B-59 ) (MR
415, 12B, Turbocharging).
a
Refit:
- the lower cross member (see Radiator mounting
cross member: Removal - Refitting ) (MR 416,
41A, Front lower structure),
- the front wheel arch liners (see Front wheel arch
liner: Removal - Refitting ) (MR 416, 55A, Exterior
protection),
- the front wheels (see Wheel: Removal - Refitting )
(MR 415, 35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the engine undertray,
- the upper deflectors on the upper cross member.

Remove the radiator mounting straps from the upper
cross member.
a
Connect the motor-driven fan assembly connectors.
a
Clip:
- the cooling hoses on the fan assembly,
- the fan assembly wiring.
a
Refit:
- the cooling assembly protector,
- the cooling assembly protector clips,
- the cooling assembly protector bolts,
- the engine cover.
a
Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting ) (MR 415, 80A, Battery).
Note:
Always check that the fan assembly is correctly
fitted on the cooling assembly.
