AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
Automatic gearbox oil: Draining - Filling

Fasten the wiring at the gearbox.
a
Refit the air outlet pipe onto the air filter unit.
a
Torque tighten the air filter box air outlet pipe
clips (6 N.m) .
a
Connect the brake servo vacuum pipe.
a
Fit the oil vapour rebreathing pipe.
a
Run the engine at idle speed.
a
Connect the Diagnostic tool .
a
Establish dialogue with the automatic transmission
computer.
a
Monitor the automatic transmission oil temperature
parameter.
a
Wait for the temperature to reach 40˚C

Place a container under the level-setting plug.
a
Remove the level plug, leaving the engine running.
a
Measure the quantity of oil collected.
a
If there was no oil flow or if the quantity collected is
less than
0.1 L :
- Switch off the engine,
- refit the level plug,
- add 0.5 L of oil,
- let the automatic transmission cool to 30˚C ,
- run the engine at idle speed,
- wait for the automatic gearbox oil temperature to
reach 40˚C

- place a container under the level-setting plug,
- remove the level plug.

Repeat these operations until there is more than 0.1
L of oil in the container.

Refit the level-setting plug.
a
Torque tighten the level-setting plug (8 N.m) .
III - FINAL OPERATION

Refit the filler pipe closure panel.
a
Torque tighten the filler pipe closure panel bolt (6
N.m) .
a
Refit the engine undertray.
IV - CHECKING THE LEVEL OUTSIDE OIL CHANGE
OPERATIONS
a
Remove:
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray.
a
It is essential to shift the selector lever to the Park
position.
a
Remove:
- the bolt from the gearbox filling hole closure panel,
- the gearbox filling hole closure panel.
a
Remove the oil vapour rebreathing pipe.
a
Disconnect the vacuum pipe from the brake servo.
a
Undo the clips on the air outlet pipe of the air filter
unit.
a
Unclip the wiring at the gearbox.
