Exhaust gas pressure sensor: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a
Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting ) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a
Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting ) (80A, Battery).
a
Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray,
- the front wheels (see Wheel: Removal - Refitting )
(35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the front wheel arch liners (see Front wheel arch
liner: Removal - Refitting ) (55A, Exterior protec-
tion),
- the front bumper (see Front bumper: Removal -
Refitting ) (55A, Exterior protection).

Drain the cooling system (see 19A , Cooling , Cool-
ing system: Draining - Refilling , page 19A-16 ) .
a
Move aside the clip ( 1 ) of the turbocharger cooling
hose using the (Mot. 1448) .
a
Disconnect the turbocharger cooling hose.
a
Remove:
- the nut ( 2 ) on the turbocharger rigid cooling pipe,
- the turbocharger heat shield nuts ( 3 ) .
a
Loosen the turbocharger heat shield nut ( 4 ) .
a
Remove the lower engine tie-bars (see 19D , Engine
mounting , Lower engine tie-bar: Removal - Refit-
ting , page 19D-85 ) .
Special tooling required
Mot. 1448 Remote operation pliers for
hose clips.
Tightening torques
m
exhaust gas pressure
sensor nut 10 N.m
catalytic pre-converter
stay studs on the cylin-
der block and on the
gearbox 8 N.m
catalytic pre-converter
upper stay nut 21 N.m
lower stay nuts on the
upper stay 21 N.m
lower stay nuts on the
cylinder block and on
the gearbox 21 N.m
lower stay nuts on the
catalytic pre-converter 21 N.m
turbocharger heat shield
nuts 8 N.m
IMPORTANT
Wear protective gloves during the operation.
IMPORTANT
Wear heat protective gloves during the operation.

Note:
Apply SUPER RELEASING AGENT (see Vehi-
cle: Parts and consumables for the repair )
(04B, Consumables - Products) to the turbo-
charger studs to prevent the studs from breaking
when the nuts are undone.
