Set the frequency of the synthesized signal generator as 500 MHz, the amplitude as -15 dBm and the RF
output as on.

Reset 4051 and set as follows:
Center frequency: 500MHz
Span: 200Hz
Reference level -15 dBm
Attenuation 0 dB

Set Peak Search, adjust the power level of the synthesized signal generator until the 4051 analyzer reading
is closest to -15 dBm.
5)
Set the 4051 analyzer as Single Sweep and wait for the sweep operation to complete. Set Peak Search,
Marker Step, Marker Delta and Frequency Step Once. Set the 4051 analyzer as Single Sweep.
6)
Execute Peak Search after a new sweep is completed. Record the Marker Delta reading as in the 4051
Record Sheet as the second harmonic distortion product of current test band.
Second harmonic distortion (0.6 GHz ~ 2GHz)

Connect the instrument as shown in Fig. 8.15 and use 1.6 GHz low-pass filter.

Set the synthesized signal generator frequency as 1.6GHz and the amplitude as -15 dBm.
9)
Set the 4051 analyzer as follows:
Center frequency: 1.6GHz
Marker All Markers Off

Repeat step 4 ~ 6.
Second harmonic distortion (2GHz ~ 4.5GHz)
11)
Connect the instrument as shown in Fig. 8.15 and use 4GHz low-pass filter.
12)
Set the synthesized signal generator frequency as 4GHz and the amplitude as -15 dBm.
13)
Set the 4051 analyzer as follows:
Center frequency: 4GHz
Marker All Markers Off

Repeat step 4 ~ 6.
