c)
Test steps
Frequency response: (50MHz ~ 4GHz)
1)
Connect the tested instrument as shown in Fig. 8.9.
2)
Set the output frequency of the synthesized signal generator as 50 MHz, the frequency step as 200 MHz
and the amplitude as -4 dBm.
3)
Reset and set the 4051 analyzer:
Center frequency:
..................................................................................................
50MHz
Span:
............................................................................................................................
0Hz
Resolution bandwidth:
...........................................................................................
300kHz
Video bandwidth:
....................................................................................................
30kHz
Frequency step:
...................................................................................................
200 MHz
In case of frequency less than 1.1GHz, set the phase noise optimization Off
(【

)。
Set as Off when the pre-amplifier option is provided.
4)
Set the power meter frequency as 50 MHz.
5)
Record the 4051 marker reading L
2
and the power meter reading L
1
in the 4051 Auxiliary Form.
6)
Execute Frequency Step Up for the synthesized signal generator and the 4051 analyzer.
7)
Repeat the power meter frequency as the frequency value to be tested next in B8 of the 4051 Auxiliary
Form and repeat step 5 to 6 for each frequency point in the 4051 Auxiliary Form.
Frequency response: (4GHz
~
9GHz)
8)
Set the output frequency of the synthesized signal generator as 4.05 GHz and the center frequency of the
4051 analyzer as 4.05 GHz.
9)
Set the power meter frequency as 4.05GHz.
10)
Record the 4051 marker reading L
2
and the power meter reading L
1
in the 4051 Auxiliary Form.
11)
Execute Frequency Step Up for the synthesized signal generator and the 4051 analyzer.
12)
Repeat the power meter frequency as the frequency value to be tested next in B8 of the 4051 Auxiliary
Form and repeat step 10 to 11 for each frequency point in the 4051 Auxiliary Form.
