Connect the instrument according to solid lines in Fig. 8.13. Set the center frequency of the 4051 analyzer
as 15 GHz, the frequency of synthesized signal generator#1 as 15.003 GHz and the frequency of
synthesized signal generator#2 as 15 GHz.

8.5.1.3.2 Display average noise level
a)
Test items
The display average noise level refers to the background noise detected by the signal/spectrum analyzer
without any external noise or signal.
The normalized noise level detected without any external noise or signal as well as the minimum attenuation
is the measured value of the display average noise level. When the peak test value is the residual response,
relevant test frequency points should be avoided.

Average noise display (10MHz to 1GHz)

Connect the 50 Ω load and the adapter to the input interface of the 4051 analyzer as shown in Fig. 8.14.

Reset 4051 and set as follows:
Start frequency: 10MHz
Stop Frequency: 1GHz
Reference level -40 dBm
