cables and adapters, even the potential fluctuation of frequency response of the analyzer within the measured
frequency range.
The measuring system is comprised of a signal generator used to simulate the device, plus the cables,
connector and Series Signal Analyzer. After determining the amplitude correction values, input and save them.
The correction values should be applied to the same measuring device.
Step 1. Connect a signal generator ranging from 1GHz to 3GHz to the Series Signal Analyzer by the
cables and connector as shown in Fig. 4.39.
Fig. 4.39 Connection of measurement system for amplitude correction
Step 2. set the signal of the signal generator with output frequency of 1GHz and amplitude of -10 dBm,
and open its RF output.
Step 3. set the analyzer as per the following parameters:

Step 4. Adjust the signal generator to make the amplitude reading on the analyzer be -10dBm:
The amplitude value to be corrected is obtained by the value on the signal generator subtracting -10dBm,
which should be recorded as the amplitude correction value at the frequency point.
Step 5. Set the frequency on the signal generator to the next point which needs to be modified, and the
set the frequency of the analyzer to the corrected frequency as well. Repeat the steps 3 4 until all
correction values are recorded.
Step 6. To input the corrected value:

the correction data, remove it (or clear the data prior to save it, and see below for details).
Step 7. Input the corrected value:
