4.2.13 Power Statistic
4.2.13.1 Basic concept
CCDF measurement is a statistic measurement for high level signal power or peak power. It reflects, with
figures and tables, percentage of time and value which the signal exceeds its average power.
Curve of complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF) of power indicates high level of power on
signal. It shows the scatter diagram to peak-to-average power ratio and corresponding probability. The CCDF
curve stands for the time quantum spent on power level whose waveform is equal to or greater than that of
given power level. The percentage of time spent by signal on power level which is equal to or greater than
given power level is defined as the probability of given power level.
4.2.13.2 Measurement Example
This section mainly introduces power statistics CCDF measurement of W-CDMA(3GPP) (simulate a W-
CDMA signal by signal generator).
Step 1. Set signal source as below:
Set the mode as W-CDMA.
Set frequency on signal source to 1.960GHz.
Set signal amplitude to -10dBm.
Step 2. Connect the radio frequency output port of the signal source to that of the analyzer. As shown in
Fig. 4.69:
