time. The video bandwidth is guaranteed during design and production by the manufacturer of the analyzer
and can be checked via the video bandwidth setting.
b) Test procedure
1) Reset the 4051 analyzer, enter the bandwidth menu and set the video bandwidth from 1 Hz to 3 MHz or as
4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 MHz.
2) Determine measurement values according to the requirements in Section 8.3.1.12. If all results fall within
the required range, ―compliant‖ should be noted in the 4051 Record Sheet, otherwise it should be
considered as noncompliant.

a) Test items
Other indicators mainly include the local measurement update rate, center frequency tuning and
conversion rate, number of traces, to represent the fast measurement characteristics of 4051 signal analyzer.

Local measurement update rate: connect apparatus as shown in Fig. 8.7. Set 4051 as spectrum
analysis mode, analysis bandwidth as 3MHz, frequency width as 0Hz and scan time as 1us, use
the oscilloscope to measure the pulse rising time of signal analyzer rear panel trigger output
end, and measure the mean period as the local measurement update rate.

Center frequency tuning and conversion rate: the center frequency tuning and conversion rate
is the interval time between two 4051 scan processes. Set 4051 as spectrum analysis mode,
scan width as 0Hz, scan time as 1ms and frequency step as 5MHz to respectively set the center
frequency as 1GHz, 5GHz and 27GHz. For the step center frequency, adopt the real-time
spectrum analyzer FSVR to capture the 4051 first local oscillation jump process, and read out
the frequency jump interval time as center frequency tuning and conversion rate.
