The lower panel displays status information about the selected slot and port.
In the case of a wireless port, as shown in
Figure 14
, the display includes Power over Ethernet (PoE)
information. This is present only for devices that support this feature.
There are a few Extreme devices, such as the Summit24e2T, Summit24e2X, and Summit Px1 switches, on
which the ports are not selectable. In these cases, the ifIndex entries for the device are displayed in the
Device Information panel.
The Additional Info field.
For slots and ports, you can enter additional information into a free-form
Additional Info
text field that is stored in the EPICenter database. This information is
not
stored in the
device. You can enter up to 255 characters of information in this field.
As soon as you type in this field, the
Save
button (at the top left of the information display panel) is
enabled. To store the information you’ve entered, click
Save
.
Adding a Port Name.
When you select a port, you can add a port name (up to 15 characters). This name
IS stored on the device—it is the same as the display string you can enter through the CLI.
