Adjusting the CO rate
Remove plugs (13) and their seals,
connect a CO tester to the outlets on
the exhaust pipes with unions part
(14) to read the CO rate in each
cylinder.
Adjust the by-pass screws (12) on
each cylinder, until reaching an idling
speed between
1000
rpm and
1100
rpm, with balanced air flows,
namely with the same vacuum value
inside the intake manifolds read by a
vacuometer.
The trimmer adjusts both injectors in
the same way and, as a result, one
cylinder could run richer than the
other. The difference should not
0 - 0.5%
Vol. If the
difference is too large, it will be
necessary to sacrifice perfect air flow
balancing in favor of a more uniform
mixture. Do this by tightening the by-
pass screw (9) of the “leaner”
cylinder or by slightly loosening the
by-pass screw of the “richer” one.
If the exhaust gases composition
reading in both cylinders is outside
the specified limits (see section
“Adjusting the throttle body”),
connect the Mathesis tester to the
diagnosis and power outlets, enter
the “Self-Diagnosis” function, then
press F2 “Active Diagnosis” and then
“Trimmer Adjustment”.
The trimmer adjustment is used to
modify the fuel rate of both injectors.
Caution
Performing the above
operations one after the other could
change the results of the other
adjustment made previously. It is
thus necessary to optimize
adjustments to obtain the following
result:
- balanced air flows
- CO level adjusted according to the
above procedure (see “Adjusting
the Throttle Body”)
- idling speed between
1000
rpm and
1100
rpm.
Registrazione del tenore di CO
Rimuovere i tappi (13) e le relative
guarnizioni, collegare un analizzatore
gas di scarico alle prese dei tubi di
scarico, mediante i raccordi (14) e
misurare il tenore di CO in ogni cilin-
dro.
Regolare le viti (12) di by-pass di ogni
cilindro, fino ad ottenere un regime
minimo compreso tra
1000
g/min. e
1100
g/min., con portate d'aria bilanci-
ate (identico valore di depressione nei
collettori di aspirazione rilevato
tramite vacuometro).
Considerando che il trimmer agisce
sulla portata carburante di entrambi
gli iniettori, può accadere che i due
cilindri non abbiano lo stesso valore di
CO. La differenza non deve essere
superiore a +
0 - 0.5%
Vol.. In caso
contrario si deve alterare un po' il
perfetto bilanciamento delle portate
d'aria a favore di una migliore
uniformità di titolo, che si otterrà
chiudendo la vite di by-pass (12) del
cilindro più “magro” o aprendo
leggermente quella del cilindro più
“ricco”.
Se la carburazione riscontrata in en-
trambi i cilindri non rientra nei valori
stabiliti (vedi sezione “Registrazione
corpo farfallato”), collegare il
Mathesis alla presa diagnosi e alla ali-
mentazione, selezionare la funzione
“Autodiagnosi”, poi F2 “Diagnosi atti-
va” ed in fine “Regolazione trimmer”.
La regolazione del trimmer agisce sul-
la portata di carburante di entrambi gli
iniettori.
Importante
L'esecuzione in successione
delle operazioni indicate può alterare il
risultato di quella precedentemente
effettuata; è pertanto necessario rag-
giungere il compromesso migliore
che in questo caso corrisponde a:
- portate d'aria bilanciate
- percentuale di CO regolata sec-
ondo le indicazioni precedente-
mente date (vedi sezione
“Registrazione corpo farfallato”)
- regime minimo compreso tra
1000
g/min. e
1100
g/min.
