A minimum of 10 samples is required to begin a Bin Analysis.
Bin Analysis Parameters
The first step in creating a new bin analysis is to set the bin analysis parameters. These
parameters identify which data in the fragment list will be included in the bin analysis
and also define the appearance of the view generated. Once the bin analysis
parameters have been set, the information from the selected result set will be used to
generate a scatter plot. This plot consists of all of the analyzed fragment data displayed
as a function of the peak height (y-axis) and fragment length (x-axis).
1. Select the
dye
that was used for the analysis of the raw data. Only one dye can be
examined at a time during each bin analysis.
2. Input the
fragment range
(the minimum and maximum fragment size).
3. Input the
maximum bin width
(maximum difference between the smallest and
largest fragments within a bin) in nucleotides.
4. Input the
minimum data points per bin
(the limiting number of points
necessary to form a bin in the scatter plot).
5. Input the
length
of the
repeat unit
of the allele.
6. Select the preferred
allele naming convention
(see the “Locus Tag Editor”
section for more information).
