Refer to the following pages for more information regarding generation of the allele
list using interpolation or linear regression.
The
Standard Deviation and # of Points
columns describe the number of points
included in each bin and the sample standard deviation. Both of these columns are
generated as a result of the automatic binning feature (see the “Bin Analysis” section)
and are empty for allele lists not based on a bin analysis.
User-comments can be written into the
Comment
column.
Allele List Generation using Interpolation and Linear
Regression
An allele list can be generated from a list of nominal sizes and a partial list of apparent
sizes using Interpolation and Linear Regression.
Interpolation and Linear Regression
Through
interpolation
the apparent fragment sizes between two selected points are
calculated.
Linear Regression
calculates the “line of best fit” for the selected alleles. The line is
then used to determine the apparent sizes for all points not selected. This option
requires that more than two apparent fragment sizes are selected.
1. Individually edit the apparent fragment sizes within the allele list from which
interpolation or a linear regression line will be generated.
2. Select the rows within the allele list to be used to generate the allele apparent sizes
list by clicking on the row header.
Holding the
Shift
key and dragging through the headers will select
multiple consecutive selections. To select non-consecutive rows, hold
down the
CTRL
key while selecting each of the rows with the left
mouse button.
3. When the alleles have been selected, right click on the highlighted area and select
the
Interpolate
or
Regression
command from the menu displayed.
4. Existing or missing apparent fragment sizes will be replaced or supplied by the
values generated in the Interpolation or Linear Regression function.
