Partial Redundancy

The picture below takes IDA8C as the back-up device for example.

If one of the system devices occurs from the situations as below, the RU devices will be switched to
operate.

If the situations above happened to both primary and secondary systems, primary system still

holds the higher priority.

3.2.1.6

Hardware Wiring

The RU-MAIN/PDC/CTL unit will determine to activate as IDA8 primary or secondary network by

monitoring the input logic contacts P_WD and S_WD. The basic philosophy is that the master RU

monitors the signal coming from the primary and secondary IDA8C/8S units and decide which one can

be active, and also pass the decision to next RU through EXP_OUT port.

3.2.1.6.1 Ateis Net

Each IDA8C and IDA8S connect to its own Local Ateis-Net. If one of the system does not function, the

another one will replace.
