If the redundancy configuration has completed, the front panel will display the information as
below.
1. "P" or "S": If the device is the primary device, a letter P will be shown on the upper-left corner.
If it is a secondary device, a letter S will be shown.
2. "REDUNDANCY SYNCHRONIZING": it will be shown when the system is being synchronized.
3. "STANDBY": Display "STANDBY" on the upper-right corner when this IDA8 unit is currently not
active (refer to
).
3.2.1.7.2 Partial Redundancy
The following example is using the IDA8C units to do partial redundancy.
Step 1:

Select one IDA8C as the primary device and the other IDA8C as the secondary device. The
example picture below is using IDA8C (1,1) as primary unit, and IDA8C (1,2) as secondary unit.

Assign the IDA8C unit as the secondary unit by clicking its [...] button on Redundancy grid, then
the [Select Redundancy Device] window will pop-up.

Select [Software] tab on [Select Redundancy Device] window.
1. Partly Enabled: Tick the checkbox to enable the redundancy function on IDA8 devices.
2. Evac Input Channel: Choose which evac input channel on the rear panel of IDA8C to connect
to the RU unit, and use it as a status indication to inform the IDA8 that the system is currently
switch to the primary or secondary unit. The [Primary Active] or [Secondary Active] LED will
light up on RU unit for status indication. Note: When this evac input channel is used on
