Overview
Use this command to create a G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection (ERP) instance, or to
enter an existing instance's context.
Use the
no
variant of this command to destroy the specified instance.

Usage
The ERP protocol in AlliedWare Plus™ can run one or more instances. A G.8032 ERP
instance is made up of:
•
two ERP ring ports,
•
a Control VLAN that carries Ring-Automatic Protection Switching (R-APS)
messages, and
•
zero, one, or more Protected traffic data VLANs that the instance protects
when the ring fails.
An ERP instance must be associated with a G.8032 physical ring and a G.8032
profile.
Example
To enter the context of an instance named “blue”, use the following commands:
awplus(config)#
g8032 erp-instance blue
awplus(g8032-config-switch)#

Parameter
Description

The name of the G.8032 ERP instance. This can be up to 32
characters.
