Defining the Sweep Control
The following chapter describes command that define the sweep mode and query
measurement time.
List of commands
INITiate[:IMMediate]
This command initiates a new measurement sequence.
With sweep count > 0 or average count > 0, this means a restart of the indicated num-
ber of measurements. With trace functions MAXHold, MINHold and AVERage, the pre-
vious results are reset on restarting the measurement.
In single sweep mode, synchronization to the end of the indicated number of measure-
ments can be achieved with the command *OPC, *OPC? or *WAI. In continuous–
sweep mode, synchronization to the sweep end is not possible since the overall mea-
surement never ends.
This command is an event and therefore has no query and no *RST value.
Example:
INIT:CONT OFF
DISP:WIND:TRAC:MODE AVER
Turns on single sweep mode and trace averaging.
INIT;*WAI
Starts the measurement and waits for the end of the sweep.
Usage:
Event
INITiate:CONTinuous
<State>
This command selects the sweep mode.
Parameters:
<State>
ON | OFF
ON
Selects continuous sweeps.
OFF
Selects single sweep.
*RST:
ON
Example:
INIT:CONT OFF
Turns on single sweep mode.
