Troubleshooting Tables
Section 11-1
11-1-2 Problems and Countermeasures
• If any errors occur that are not covered in the following tables, print out the
contents of the PLC Interface Area and related DM Area words from the
CX-Programmer or other Programming Device and provide them to your
OMRON representative.
• If an unexpected operation occurs, it may be that parameter and operat-
ing data were not saved when they were transferred, or that the data was
not saved in the flash memory. If CX-Position is being used, upload the
parameters and operating data from the PCU and open the file and check
to be sure that the data was transferred and saved properly. If CX-Position
is not being used, check the parameters and operating data in the DM
Area.
• If an unexpected operation occurs, there may be an error in data or flag
exchange between the ladder program and the Position Control Unit. Use
the CX-Programmer data trace function to check whether the data is
being exchanged at the correct timing.
No.
Problem
Probable causes
Items to check
Remedy
1
The CPU Unit’s
RUN indicator does
not light when the
power is turned ON.
Power supply lines are wired
incorrectly.
Check the power supply wiring.
Correct the power supply
wiring.
2
The power supply voltage is
low.
Check the power supply voltage. Check the power supply
capacity and correct the
power supply.
3
An internal fuse has blown.
Check the fuses.
Replace the fuse and
determine what caused it
to blow. (Refer to the
troubleshooting section in
the applicable CPU Unit
operation manual.)
4
The power supply is defective. Check the power supply.
Replace the power sup-
ply.
5
Only the PCU’s
RUN indicator fails
to light when the
power is turned ON.
The power supply capacity is
insufficient.
Add up the power supply capac-
ity for all of the Units mounted to
the same Rack, including the
CPU Unit, and compare that to
the power supply capacity of the
Power Supply Unit. If the com-
bined capacity of the Units is
greater than that of the Power
Supply Unit, then they cannot be
properly used.
Increase the power sup-
ply capacity
Change the configura-
tion so that the power
supply capacity at the
Backplane is not
exceeded.
6
The PCU is defective.
---
Follow the steps given in
sections
11-3
onwards.
7
The motor does not
lock.
Operating command has not
been output from the Output
Unit to the Servo Drive.
Check the wiring between the
Output Unit and the Servo Drive
with a tester.
Check that an operating com-
mand has been included in the
ladder program.
Correct the wiring.
Correct the ladder pro-
gram.
8
Servo Drive setting error.
Check the settings for the Servo
Drive.
Correct the settings for
the Servo Drive.
