44. Place the mouse in the middle of the gray
band that appears to the left of the black
area. Use the Worksheet to make note of
the x coordinate and round the coordinate
to the nearest .5 pixel.
45. Zoom out and move to the right outer most side of the ball. Zoom in on the edge. DO NOT re-
adjust the Window and Level slide bars.
46. Place the mouse in the middle of the gray band that appears to the right of the black area.
Make note of the x coordinate in the Worksheet.
47. Add the 2 x values together and then divide by 2. This value is the ball’s geometric centre.
Make note of this value in the Worksheet.
48. Use the X-Ray and Motor Controller’s
Magnification setting to move the ball toward the X-
Ray Source 140mm.
49. Capture the image calling the file capture .
50. Correct the image.
51. Unwarp the image calling the file D:\zz.
52. Double-click on zz in Windows Explorer to load
the unwarped, corrected file into MicroView .
53. Find the geometric centre of the ball at the X-Ray
Source end by making note of the x values on the
outer most left and right side of the ball and dividing
this value by 2. Make note of values in Worksheet.
Note: This value must eventually equal the ball’s geometric centre at the detector end, plus or minus
1 pixel.
IF NOT , adjust the geometric centre values until they are within 1 pixel of each other as follows:
a. Turn off the X-Ray Source.
b. Loosen the 4 stage retaining bolts.
