SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Live animal handling is prohibited during installation, testing, or service of equipment.

X-RAY SHIELDING

X-ray shielding contains lead and lead compounds, chemicals known (to the State of California) to
cause cancer and other reproductive harm. Wear gloves when handling shielding and wash hands
after handling.

BLOOD BOURNE PATHOGENS PROCEDURE

The following procedure is documented in "Blood Bourne Pathogens Procedure" (SER-01-0001).

Note:

This procedure may be periodically updated, therefore, see the latest version of the document in
the GE Medical Systems files.

Before any equipment is returned to GEMS or before equipment is serviced, the following criteria
must be met:

•

Equipment returned from use in a clinical or laboratory setting must be clean and free of any
blood and other infectious substances.

•

Customers are responsible for the sanitary condition of the equipment

. The suggested

equipment clean-up procedure for cleaning any fluids or matter discovered inside the
equipment is as follows:

Wear personal protective equipment.
