10. Capture an image in Fluoro as follows:
- click Menu at the top of the Fluoro screen and choose Capture from the drop-down menu
- once the Capture pop-up is displayed, enter 1
in the Number of Frames to Capture field
- enter 10 in the Number of Frames to Average
field
- name the file bright in the Name of Series field
- save the file to the directory: D:\calib
- click the Capture button.
The progress of capture is shown in the Fluoro’s
title bar as
[saving...] . Wait until the image is
captured.
11. Turn off the X-Ray Source and capture a dark
image in Fluoro. Call this image dark .
12. Mount the X,Y Centring ball tool on the stage
cone. Physically rotate the X,Y Centring Ball
tool so that 2 of the 4 adjustment screws are
exactly perpendicular to the detector (i.e. not
at an angle).
13. Turn the X-rays back on and wait a few minutes
for the Source to stabilize, then re-start Fluoro .
14. Press m in Fluoro to display the mouse position window.
15. Elevate the tool using the Elevation feature in X-Ray and Motor
Controller until the ball appears in the centre of the Fluoro display. The
stage should be close to the detector. Move the stage 70 mm toward the Source so that it is
positioned approximately halfway between the Source and detector.
16. Click the Turn X-Ray Off button.
17. Mount the Dial Indicator Mount and Precision Dial Indicator.
