6.2.7 Specimen Stage, Short Limit Switch Removal / Replacement
INTRODUCTION
Two limit switches limit vertical travel of the
specimen stage and prevent it from colliding with
the bracket. One is mounted to the top left of the
specimen slide, the other directly below it on a
common bracket.

• 9/64” t-handle allen wrench

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
X-ray shielding contains lead and lead
compounds, chemicals known (to the State of California) to cause cancer and other reproductive
harm. Wear gloves when handling shielding and wash hands after handling.
PRECONDITIONS
• Fully retract brass cone to allow equalization bath bracket to be removed.
• Machine locked out. See 6.1.1 for details.
• Door opened.
• Equalization bath bracket removed.
EQUALIZATION BATH BRACKET REMOVAL
1. Using 7/64” hex key, remove two socket
head cap screws from end of equalization
bath bracket.
2. Insert t-handle, 9/64" hex driver through hole
in front of equalization bath bracket loosen
screw. Remove bracket.
