Magnification Stage Limit Switches Removal / Replacement

INTRODUCTION

The magnification stage is equipped with two limit
switches, located along the outside of the limit
switch bracket.

None

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

X-ray shielding contains lead and lead
compounds, chemicals known (to the State of
California) to cause cancer and other reproductive
harm. Wear gloves when handling shielding and
wash hands after handling.

PRECONDITIONS

•

Machine locked out. See 6.1.1 for details.

•

Door open.

REMOVE

1.

Unplug cable connector from limit switches.

2.

Using small Phillips screwdriver, remove screw and lockwashers securing limit switch to
bracket.

REPLACE

Reverse of removal.

FOLLOW-ON PROCEDURES

Run the X-Ray Motor Controller application and verify that the limit switches are communicating
with the software and that the stage/slide does not crash.
